From ASIC filings and registrations to AML and super obligations, our team makes sure the rules around your business are met, and explains them in plain English. Marlene and Patricia look after most of this work for businesses across Canberra and the ACT, so you'll deal with the same people each time.

ASIC Compliance and Company Secretarial

Good fit if
you run a company and would rather not chase ASIC deadlines yourself.

If you operate through a company, ASIC expects its details to stay current. Directors and other officeholders change, addresses move, and there’s an annual review to keep on top of.

We look after the ASIC side for you: the annual review, updating officeholders and changing the registered office, so the company’s records are right and nothing slips past a deadline.

☑️ Annual company review
☑️ Officeholder changes
☑️ Registered office updates

ABN, ACN and GST Registration

Good fit if
you’re starting a business or company, or your business has grown to the point where GST is a question.

Before you can trade, invoice or hire, there’s usually a registration to sort out: an ABN for your business, an ACN if you’re setting up a company, and GST once your turnover calls for it.

We register what you need and tell you plainly what each one means. If you’re not sure whether you should be registered for GST, we’ll look at your numbers and give you a straight answer.

☑️ ABN Registration
☑️ ACN
☑️ Record kept audit-ready

AML Compliance

Good fit if
you run a professional services business that may be covered by Australia’s AML laws, or you’re not sure whether you are.

Anti-money laundering (AML) laws now reach well beyond the banks. Since 1 July 2026, certain services provided by professionals such as accountants, lawyers and real estate agents are regulated, including setting up companies and trusts.

Not every service is covered, so the first job is working out whether yours are. We explain what applies to you and help you meet your AML obligations, including the written AML program, client identity checks and record keeping. AML is also part of how we run our own firm, with a dedicated AML Officer on our team.

☑️ Whether your services are covered, explained plainly
☑️ AML program, client identification and record keeping
☑️ A dedicated AML officer on our own team

QA Auditing and Monitoring

Good fit if
you want to know the work you’re paying for has been checked, not just done.

Good accounting isn’t only about getting the numbers right once. It’s about having a system that catches mistakes before they reach you.

We run documented quality systems across the firm, and our QA Auditor and Monitor reviews our work and processes on an ongoing basis, so every file meets the same standard no matter who prepares it.

☑️ Documented quality systems
☑️ Ongoing review and monitoring of our work
☑️ The same standard on every file

Superannuation Guarantee Compliance

Good fit if
you employ staff and want to be sure their super is paid correctly and on time.

Paying super used to be a quarterly job. Since 1 July 2026, under Payday Super, employers must pay super for each payday, and it needs to reach the employee’s fund within seven business days.

We help you get it right: working out what’s owed, setting up your payroll and cash flow for the new timing, and sorting out any shortfalls before they turn into a Super Guarantee Charge.

☑️ Super calculated correctly on every pay run
☑️ Payroll set up for the Payday Super timing
☑️ Shortfalls sorted early

Questions We Hear A Lot

Some accounting services do. Since 1 July 2026, accountants who provide certain services, such as setting up companies and trusts, are regulated under Australia's AML laws. Everyday work like tax returns and bookkeeping isn't regulated on its own. We can help you work out which of your services are covered.

From 1 July 2026, employers must pay super for each payday instead of once a quarter, and it needs to reach the employee's fund within seven business days of payday. We can help you set up your payroll and cash flow for it.

Most businesses need an ABN. An ACN is issued when you register a company, so you only have one if you trade through a company. Sole traders and partnerships don't have one. If you're not sure which applies to you, we'll point you the right way.
